Carl Berg Gallery is pleased to present Jenny Herrick in her first solo exhibition in Los Angeles.

Herrick has created several new pieces for the exhibition. Her large-scale, gouache on paper drawings, meld architectural, diagrammatic and programmatic visual languages with naturalistic rendering techniques. She is interested in both natural and constructed systems that are reflexive by nature and in the causal relationships between implied actions and reactions within these systems.

Herrick’s works are often imbued with a subtle narrative that reveals a visual or conceptual paradox. She portrays systems that, not unlike pyramid schemes, eventually collapse on themselves, often unbeknownst to their participants.

Jenny Herrick graduated from the MFA program at Yale in 2003 and has recently moved to Los Angeles. She was featured in a solo exhibition at the Greenleaf Gallery at Whittier College earlier this year and will be included in a group exhibition at the Peggy Phelps and East Gallery at Claremont Graduate University later this year.
