Dan McCleary: New Work

New Work

This will be Dan McCleary’s debut exhibition with the Carl Berg Gallery and will consist of eight large oil paintings along with related studies and a set of etchings entitled “Masculine-Feminine” published by Carpe Diem Press.

McCleary’s subject is the everyday life of ordinary individuals caught in moments of internal isolation. Many are captured while at their jobs at hair salons, hospitals, and fast food restaurants, while others are found in those small private moments where we prepare to face the world. McCleary builds his own sets and paints from life, giving the works a depth and detail that only comes from sustained looking.

Dan McCleary has exhibited at The Ulrich Museum of Art, Wichita, KS, Michael Kohn Gallery, Los Angeles, David Beitzel, New York, Gallery Paule Anglim, San Francisco, and The Texas Gallery, Houston, TX.
