Megan Williams: Onslaught
Onslaught
We are pleased to present new work by Megan Williams in her second solo show at the Carl Berg Gallery. The artist, who burst upon the national scene in the legendary exhibition at MOCA "Helter Skelter", continues to use a cartoon iconography to explore visual fairy tales for adults.
The exhibition will feature 4 large-scale works including one multi-panel painting. The show will continue the artist’s exploration of the volatile narratives she has become so familiar for.
Williams has been a true pioneer in the use of cartoon imagery. The resurgence of interest in this genre has been phenominal with several museum exhibitions and magazine articles focusing on the subject. Williams approach to this subject delivers a unique blend of the cartoon narative with an explosive movement.
Williams has exhibited extensively including solo exhibitions in New York with Bravin Post Lee and with Christopher Grimes Gallery in Los Angeles. Williams is also currently exhibiting in our project space in Amsterdam in an exhibitiion titled “Drawing from LA” and will be featured in a solo exhibition there in the next year.
